Top Reasons People Are Choosing Mobile Homes

Everyone has a list of things they want in their home. It can be something simple like a pantry or a porch. Or it can be a feature that requires careful planning, like a panic room or smart technology.

There’s one home that’s flexible enough for all these – the mobile home. Most homeowners don’t even give this type of home a thought. Most of the time, it’s because they’re not aware of it. Other times it’s because it conjures images of rundown trailers.

Mobile homes today are nothing like that. Most have great layouts and are luxurious. You can even design it so it ticks every box in your list. Here are other reasons more people of opting to invest in a manufactured home.

Many homeowners prefer on-site builds. These kinds of homes can be pricey. Building a house can cost you anywhere from $300,000 to several million. But you can buy a good mobile home for half the price. You can even score one for about $88,000 if you opt for a single-wide design.

The lower price tag is due to the smaller square footage most mobile homes have. Since it’s smaller, manufacturers use fewer materials to build it.

Another reason people choose mobile homes is the fast construction. They're called manufactured homes for a reason. These houses are always built-in something like an assembly line. Manufacturers use the latest material and technology to design and build it. That’s a far cry from construction that hasn’t changed for decades.

Floor Plans are Open and Spacious

One of the best things about mobile homes for sale is their open floor plan. It makes the home look and feel bigger than it actually is. The average modular home has around 1,500 sq. ft. of space. That’s bigger than some homes or apartments.

Manufacturers can also design the space based on your needs. They can make a room bigger or smaller. They can add extra storage or outdoor space for a garden if you want. The latter will depend on where you’ll place your mobile home though. If you have a big private property, then you could have ample space for a yard.
